Privacy Policy

Last Updated: October 15, 2025

Terra Nova Kids (“we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy and Cookie Notice (this “Notice”) explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our website, enroll in our programs, or otherwise interact with us. By using our website or enrolling in our programs, you agree to the terms of this Notice.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information from parents, guardians, and visitors in a few different ways:

a. Information You Provide: We may collect personal information when you fill out forms, register for classes, subscribe to newsletters, or communicate with us. Examples include your name, address, email address, phone number, and child’s name and age. If you provide medical or emergency information, that data is stored offline for safety compliance.

b. Information Automatically Collected: We automatically collect certain data through Google Analytics and GoDaddy, including IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and time spent on our site. This helps us understand website traffic and improve our services.

c. Information About Children: We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. All child-related data is provided by a parent or guardian. If we become aware that information was inadvertently collected from a child, we will delete it promptly.

2. How We Use Information

We use personal information to register students, manage classes, send newsletters, respond to inquiries, process payments, and maintain contact with families. We may also use data to improve our website, analyze engagement, and comply with legal or safety requirements.

3. Disclosure of Information

We only share information in limited cases: with service providers that assist us in operations (such as website hosting, analytics, and communications), with law enforcement or emergency responders if required, or in the event of a business transfer. We never sell or rent personal information.

4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to enhance functionality, measure performance, and deliver relevant content. You can manage or disable cookies through your browser settings or via our cookie banner.

5. Interest-Based Advertising

We may use Google Analytics and social media integrations (Facebook, Instagram) for marketing and engagement purposes. These tools may collect anonymized usage data. You can opt out of targeted ads through your browser or ad network settings.

6. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse. While we strive to maintain strong security, no system is completely secure, and data transmission is at your own risk.

7. Data Retention

We retain parent, guardian, and child records for at least three (3) years after the student’s last participation or longer if required by law or insurance. Financial and administrative records are typically retained for seven (7) years.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information by contacting us at the address below. You may also unsubscribe from newsletters or marketing emails using the links provided or by contacting us directly.

9. Children’s Privacy and Legal Compliance

We comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and the Maryland Personal Information Protection Act (Md. Code Com. Law §14‑3501 et seq.). Child information is collected only through parent or guardian submissions for legitimate educational purposes.

10. Data Breach Notification

In the event of a security breach involving the personal information of a Maryland resident, we will notify affected individuals and the Maryland Attorney General as required by law.

11. Links to Other Websites

Our website may link to third-party websites, including Facebook and Instagram. We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content. You should review their privacy policies independently.

12. Updates to This Notice

We may update this Notice periodically. When changes occur, we will post the revised version with a new effective date. Continued use of our website or services indicates acceptance of the updated Notice.
